Virginia Tech to get Justin Robinson back for NCAA tournament

ACC Basketball Tournament - Second Round

Virginia Tech announced on Sunday afternoon that their star point guard Justin Robinson will return for the NCAA tournament in the simplest way possible.

Robinson tweeted, “I’m back.”

Head coach Buzz Williams tweeted, “He’s back.”

This is absolutely massive news for the Hokies. They were a top ten team with Robinson available, but he has missed the last six weeks after suffering an injury on Jan. 30th at Miami. Virginia Tech went 7-5 in his 12 game absence, and in the process, their future first round pick Nickeil Alexander-Walker struggled to find any kind of consistency.

Robinson is averaging 13.7 points, 5.2 assists and 3.2 boards while shooting 41.1 percent from three. When he is at 100 percent, Virginia Tech might have the best backcourt in the country, and that’s not an exaggeration. This is massive, massive news.
