Ohio State junior big man Micah Potter is transferring from the program, the school announced on Monday.
The 6-foot-9 Potter was a reserve big man for the Buckeyes the past two seasons as he appeared in 29 games as a sophomore. Averaging 10.1 minutes per game, the Ohio native averaged 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game last season.
With the loss of Potter, Ohio State’s frontcourt depth takes a hit as the team returns Andre and Kaleb Wesson along with sophomore forward Kyle Young. Freshman JaeDon LeDee could also receive some additional minutes now that Potter has opted to move on.
Ohio State opens its 2018-19 regular season with a matchup against Cincinnati on Wednesday.
