Heritage Auctions sold what was advertised as a game-worn John Wooden Purdue jersey from the 1930s for $264,000 this week.
Wooden, who became a college basketball legend for his success as the head coach of UCLA, played his college ball with the Boilermakers, where he was a three-time all-american.
According to the Lafayette Journal & Courier, the jersey was sold by a man who received it from his grandfather, a friend of Wooden’s from his Purdue days.
