Virginia head coach Tony Bennett was named the Naismith Men’s College Coach of the Year on Sunday.

The Cavaliers claimed the ACC regular season and conference tournament title while winning a school-record 31 games after not being ranking in the preseason.

Bennett also earned AP Coach of the Year honors and was named NBCSports.com Coach of the Year as well over the last several weeks.

Achieving its first No. 1 overall ranking since 1982, Virginia was the No. 1 overall seed in the 2018 NCAA tournament before a shocking first-round exit at the hands of No. 16 seed UMBC.

Bennett also won this award as the head coach of Washington State in 2007.
