Morehead State head coach Sean Woods was suspended on Nov. 22 as the university investigated an incident that happened following a game against Evansville.
Now, the fifth-year coach is facing bigger issues. Legal issues.
WKYT, in Evansville Indiana, reported Tuesday that Woods is being charged with misdemeanor battery.According to court documents, Malik Maitland told police that Woods backhanded him in the chest during halftime, causing pain.
Soufiyane Diakte told police Woods shoved him twice during the game - once during a timeout and and once in the locker room.
This alleged altercation occurred almost four years to the day after Woods was at the center of another incident involving a player. On Nov. 21, 2012, in a loss to Kentucky, Woods was seen driving Devon Atkinson, a senior guard, to tears as he berated him on the bench. The school investigated the incident and Woods was suspended one game for his actions.
Woods, who has been at the helm of the program sine 2012, is 77-66 during his tenure with the Eagles.
