With the game tied and with less 7.4 seconds left on the clock, Hofstra senior guard Deron Powers went coast-to-coast, converting on a game-winning bucket with 0.5 seconds on the clock to give the Pride a 92-90 win over Bradley on Monday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the the Gulf Coast Showcase at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida.
Powers finished with a game-high 19 points. Darrell Brown, a 5-foot-10 freshman, tripled his scoring average with a 34-point outburst in the a losing effort for the Braves.
The Pride advance to face Vermont in the semifinals.
