Oregon landed a third perimeter piece for its incoming class on Monday afternoon.

Troy Brown, considered to be a top-15 prospect in the Class of 2017, announced he had verbally committed to Dana Altman and the Ducks. Georgetown, Kansas and UNLV were the other finalists for the services of the 6-foot-6 wing.

Brown, the five-star prospect, joins a recruiting class that includes four-star small forward Abu Kigab and four-star shooting guard V.J. Bailey. This is an important pickup for the Ducks, as they, and the rest of the nation, attempt to catch Arizona, a team that currently has the best recruiting class for 2017.

The Las Vegas native, who plays at Centennial High School, played for the Las Vegas Prospects in the Nike EYBL, averaging 16.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in 20 appearances. Aside from his play on the grassroots circuit, Brown made all seven starts in USA Basketball U17’s run to the FIBA World Championship in Spain. He averaged 10.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Rivals rates him as the No. 12 overall player in the senior class.
