For the second time in a 15-month span, an in-state recruit committed to Lorenzo Romar and Washington.
Daejon Davis, a Seattle native, once again gave his pledge to the Huskies. He first did so in August of 2015 before reopening his recruitment the following spring. This past August, he cut his list to Washington, Arizona Gonzaga, Oregon and Stanford.
He joins another talented recruiting class for Romar. It is headlined by Michael Porter Jr., who is the son of the newly-hired assistant coach, and is arguably the best player in the Class of 2017. The incoming group also includes fellow four-star recruit, and Garfield High teammate, Jaylen Nowell.
Even if Markelle Fultz declares for the 2017 NBA Draft as we all expect, the Huskies will have the talent to compete in the Pac-12 in 2017-18. Noah Dickerson, David Crisp and Matisse Thybulle should all likely be back.
In 13 games in the Nike EYBL, playing for Seattle Rotary Select, the 6-foot-4 Davis averaged 17.7 points -- shooting 41 percent from three -- 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Rivals lists him as the No. 45 overall player in the senior class.
