North Carolina held its annual Late Night With Roy over the weekend. Like most most midnight madness events, it stuck to a similar script: players did a choreographed dance before an intrasquad scrimmage.
In the scrimmage, Justin Jackson led white team with 13 points, while Isaiah Hicks, shot a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, to pace the blue team with 12 points, according to the unofficial stats from Ross Martin of 24/7Sports. The Tar Heels, who lost in the national championship on a buzzer beater, will need Jackson and Hicks, along with Kennedy Meeks and Joel Berry to step up into major roles after Marcus Paige and Brice Johnson both graduated.
Despite the losses, North Carolina should find itself in the preseason top-10.
