West Virginia lands pledge from Class of 2018 point guard, YouTube sensation Jordan McCabe

West Virginia landed its first commitment in the Class of 2018 on Tuesday night as point guard Jordan McCabe pledged to the Mountaineers during a press conference at his high school.

A native of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, the 5-foot-11 McCabe rose to national prominence early in his high school career for a series of YouTube videos that displayed his flashy ball handling and passing. Described by some as the next Jason “White Chocolate” Williams, McCabe is certainly a talented lead guard, but he’ll have to tone down some of the flashiness to be at his best at West Virginia.

Considered a three-star prospect on Rivals, McCabe selected West Virginia over his other finalists of DePaul, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Minnesota and Missouri. During his sophomore season, McCabe led Kaukauna High School to the WIAA Division 2 state basketball title as he put up 25 points, 6.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game.
