VIDEO: Dennis Smith Jr. looks healthy, explosive at summer camp

Dennis Smith Jr. is N.C. State’s star freshman point guard, but the Fayetteville-native, who has been enrolled at the university since last year, is coming off of ACL surgery.

He says he’s healthy, telling the Associated Press last week that “I don’t expect to be rusty at all.”

“I was feeling kind of nervous at one point,” he said, “but I went in and did a workout and then I was thinking, `I’m putting in all this work so all the nervousness should be out of my mind.’ I had no reason to be timid.”

“I just have to go out there and perform, no excuses.”

It wasn’t until this past weekend, however, that Smith was able to get out on the floor and show what his knee is capable of handling. He was at Adidas Nations and, based on these highlights and reports that came out of the workouts, Smith seems to be on the right track once again.
