Washington announced that sophomore Donaven Dorsey is transferring out of the program.
Dorsey started eight games as a freshman, but he saw his playing dip to less than ten minutes per game as a sophomore. Washington brought in a loaded 2015 recruiting class, and it wasn’t likely that Dorsey would be able to beat out any of the younger guys for minutes.
The other issue? Michael Porter Jr.’s commitment last Friday put the Huskies in a position where they were going to be over the scholarship limit in 2017-18. Dorsey’s departure solves that problem.
