The Hurricanes added to their 2017 recruiting class over the weekend as point guard Chris Lykes committed to the program.
“After long thoughts and considerations with my family,” Lykes said in a statement he posted to twitter, “I have decided that attending Miami University is the best decision for me.”
Lykes is an interesting prospect. He’s a highly-regarded point guard -- evidence being that he picked the Hurricanes over the defending national champs, Villanova -- but he also stands just 5-foot-6. Prior to last summer, there was a faction of observers that didn’t think he was much more than an Atlantic-10 level player.
Lykes joins 6-foot-6 wing D.J. Russell in the class.
