UTEP head coach Tim Floyd unloaded on a local radio host on Tuesday, confronting Steve Kaplowitz, who hosts a show on 600 AM El Paso, for the “complete fiction” that Kaplowitz discusses.

The core of the issue is the number of transfers that UTEP has had under Floyd. The coach showed up to the press conference with a 17-page booklet titled “Transfers for Dummies” for the media members in attendance.

“It’s complete fiction, what’s coming out of his mouth and he wants me to go on the air and respond to that,” Floyd said, “Some rumor that comes from some blogger, from some website, as if he’s getting his (information) from CBS sports, or ABC sports or ESPN.”

The full video of the confrontation can be seen below:

This is far from the first time that Floyd has had his temper get the best of him. In 2011, prior to an NIT game against New Mexico, Floyd and Steve Alford had a confrontation over time on the practice floor that was heated enough that Alford decided not to renew the series against the Miners. In 2013, Floyd confronted USC head coach Andy Enfield at a reception during the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament over comments that Enfield made regarding Floyd’s attempt to get the USC job back. That resulted in the two having to be separated and assistant coaches form both staffs coming close to fisticuffs. And who can forget when Floyd was ejected from a game against East Carolina and had to be escorted off the floor by a cop.
