Oakland junior point guard Kay Felder was one of the breakout players of the 2015-16 college basketball season and the nation’s leader in assists is staying in the 2016 NBA Draft after signing with an agent, a source confirmed to NBCSports.com

The 5-foot-9 Felder was one of the nation’s most exciting players to watch this season as he averaged 24.4 points, 9.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Felder originally entered the 2016 NBA Draft earlier this week but it looked like he could be coming back as he was only testing the waters.

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, Felder has signed with Michael Silverman of Athlete Management Group and Brandon Grier of Principle Sports & Entertainment Management.

This is a big loss for the Golden Grizzlies, who are coming off of a 23-12 season and finals appearance in the Vegas 16 postseason tournament. Felder’s ability to create for himself or others was vital for head coach Greg Kampe’s system and it will be tough for Oakland to find another player of his caliber any time soon.
