Perry Ellis scored 21 points and Landen Lucas chipped in with 16 points and eight boards as No. 1 Kansas cruised past No. 16 Austin Peay, 105-79.

The Jayhawks were never really in danger on Thursday night as Austin Peay was totally outclassed. But there was something good to take out of the win: Svi showed up.

Svi Mykhailiuk, a 6-foot-8 wing that entered Kansas with the hype of being a potential lottery pick, has not gotten a ton of time through his two seasons in Lawrence, but he played really well down the stretch of the season. That continued in the first round of the tournament, as Myhailiuk went off for 23 points on 9-for-11 shooting, hitting four threes.

Getting him going has been a key for the Jayhawks all season long, and it looks like they not have yet another weapon at their disposal.

The Jayhawks will play No. 9 UConn on Saturday.
