Eddie Jordan has been fired as the head coach at Rutgers.

Jordan is a Rutgers alum and a former head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards, but he was never able to get the Scarlet Knight program rolling. He finished with a 29-67 record in three seasons in Piscataway, including a 7-25 finish this year where Rutgers went 1-17 in the Big Ten.

Rutgers was 3-35 against Big Ten foes in two years in the Big Ten.

Jordan had two years remaining on his contract.

NJ.com was the first to report the firing.
