The Butler basketball program announced Wednesday afternoon that redshirt junior point guard Tyler Lewis will miss a second consecutive game after suffering a concussion in practice last week.

Lewis, who sat out the Bulldogs’ 72-64 loss at Creighton Saturday, averages seven points per game and is second on the team with an average of 3.7 assists per contest. Without him even more of the playmaking responsibilities fall upon the shoulders of senior Roosevelt Jones, who’s averaging a team-best 4.6 assists per game.

Against Creighton Jones and Kellen Dunham absorbed the majority of Lewis’ minutes, with the former playing 36 minutes and Dunham all forty. Butler hosts DePaul Wednesday night in a game they’ll be expected to win, even with the fact that they’ll be a man short.

Butler enters the game 2-5 in Big East play, with their lone wins coming against cellar dwellers DePaul and St. John’s.
