Kevin Ollie likes his ‘Chicken Fried’.

On Wednesday morning, UConn landed a commitment from Zach Brown, the 7-foot-1 center and top 25 recruit in the Class of 2017, not the country singer.

Brown, the No. 17 player in the class, according to Rivals, is a strong, physical post presence that should be able to defend the rim from the day he sets foot on the Gampel Pavilion floor. His post game is slowly coming along, but he’s a good finisher around the basket with an uncanny ability to keep the ball high once he gains possession in the paint.

In other words, the Miami native will be an excellent replacement for Amida Brimah when he makes it to campus in a year and a half and should fit in alongside Class of 2016 big man Juwan Durham quite well.

Brown is the first member of the Class of 2017 to commit to the Huskies, although Ollie has landed commitments from four players -- and three four-star prospects -- in the Class of 2016.
