Vanderbilt lost in overtime at Arkansas on Tuesday night, 90-85, but the fact that the game actually made it to an extra period was wild.
The Commodores were down 77-75 with 2.1 seconds left on the clock and the ball at the other end of the court.
And they tied the game up with a dunk from their star center Damian Jones.
Check this out:
Yup. He got that dunk off in time.
But Vandy, who was down by double-figures in the second half, still managed to find a way to lose to the Razorbacks, meaning that the team many -- including me -- believed would be the second-best team in the SEC this season is now 8-6 on the year with losses to arguably the six best teams they’ve played; they did beat Wake Forest on a neutral court.
Entering the year, there was talk that Jones, Wade Baldwin IV and Luke Kornet were all pros. But if there are three NBA guys on that roster, why can’t they win a game?
Vandy is now 0-2 in the SEC this season.
