Austin Grandstaff will be transferring out of the Ohio State program.

“They have been nothing but great to me,” Grandstaff told ESPN.com. “But I just don’t see it as the right fit, so I want to look somewhere else. They are great people, and Coach Matta is a great coach.”

Grandstaff was averaging 4.4 points in ten games for the Buckeyes, who, at 5-5, are off to their worst start in program history under head coach Thad Matta.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard was averaging 11.5 minutes per game and played 17 minutes as recently as last Tuesday, in a win over Air Force. But he saw just four minutes against Northern Illinois this week. In ten games this season, he has just three rebounds and has not recorded a single assist.

Grandstaff played for Team Texas Elite on the grassroots circuit. His former AAU teammate, Elijah Thomas, also announced this week that he will be transferring out of the program.
