GAME OF THE NIGHT: No. 7 Oklahoma 78, No. 9 Villanova 55

The Sooners went 13-for-24 from three. Villanova was 4-for-32. That’s a good way to lose. Anyway, we wrote a lot of words on this game right here.

IMPORTANT OUTCOMES

No. 11 Purdue 80, IUPUI 53: Caleb Swanigan has 10 points, 14 boards and four assists -- and just two turnovers! -- and A.J. Hammons added 14 points as the Boilermakers ran through the Jaguars. The most important note coming from this game, however, was that Kendell Stephens finally hit some shots. Arguably Purdue’s most important shooter, Stephens was 4-for-27 from three in his previous four games. He was 3-for-6 on Monday night.

No. 4 Iowa State 84, Buffalo 63: Georges Niang popped off for 31 points and 12 boards and Monte’ Morris added 12 points and 10 assists as Iowa State remained unbeaten with a win over a scrappy Buffalo team. The Bulls kept it close for a while, getting within a single possession midway through the second half.

No. 15 Oregon 67, Navy 47: Dillon Brooks had 19 points, six assists and six boards and Chris Boucher added 14 points, 14 boards and three blocks as the Ducks knocked off Navy.

SHOT OF THE NIGHT: James Daniel, Howard

James Daniel, the nation’s leading scorer this season, averaging 28.6 points entering the season, scored 27 points and hit his second game-winner of the season as the Bison won at NCCU to land their first MEAC win of the season:

STARRED

Kelan Martin, Butler: Martin scored 20 off the bench to lead the No. 18 Bulldogs to a 93-66 win over VMI. In his last three games, Martin is averaging 19.3 points and 5.3 boards while shooting 22-for-34 from the floor.

Jarrod Uthoff, Iowa: Uthoff scored 27 points in a blowout win for the Hawkeyes. We’re going to get a sense of where they are when they visit No. 4 Iowa State on Thursday.

Evan Bradds, Belmont: Bradds finished with 27 points, eight boards and five assists on 9-for-10 shooting as the Bruins knocked off Lipscomb in the Battle of the Boulevard.

STRUGGLED

Villanova: Seriously. 4-for-32 from three. That’s hard to do.

Cedric Kuakumensah, Brown: Brown’s star forward struggled with the length and size of Georgetown, shooting just 2-for-12 from the floor in a blowout loss.
