Wichita State has struggled to a 2-4 start this season as injuries and a depleted roster have hurt the Shockers. Gregg Marshall’s team is dealing with lingering issues to starters Fred VanVleet and Anton Grady but Wichita State received some positive news this week as it appears that transfer guard Conner Frankamp could be eligible one game early.

According to a report from Fox’s Reid Forgrave, the Kansas transfer, who is eligible after first semester, could be available as soon as Wednesday’s Shockers game against UNLV. Frankamp needs his grades from the first semester to post before he is allowed to play, but it looks like he could be in the lineup on Wednesday instead of Dec. 12, which was when many pegged the shooter to enter the rotation.

The addition of Frankamp should help the Shockers offense as he’s a noted floor spacer who can hit perimeter shots. With VanVleet and freshman guard Landry Shamet still recovering from injuries, having Frankamp back for even one game early would be a big lift for the Shockers, since they need to pick up some quality non-conference wins after the slow start.
