Tacko Fall has been freed!

Tacko Fall has been cleared to play for Central Florida this season, his guardian, Amanda Wattstein, told NBCSports.com.

Fall is a 7-foot-6 freshman from Senegal that had a bit of a rough road during his high school career. He bounced around schools during his first year in the US before landing at Liberty Christian Prep, where he spent his final two years of high school.

The problem was that the school is currently under evaluation by the NCAA, which means that they only accepted 7.5 of Fall’s core classes. He was initially declared ineligible, which, in a vacuum, makes sense until you consider that Fall was a 3.6 GPA student at a school where all of the classes had actually been NCAA approved and is currently getting As and Bs in Calculus, Chemistry and Engineering classes at Central Florida.

But he’s now cleared to play and will be available when UCF plays Davidson on Saturday. He’ll also be available when UCF plays UC Irvine, meaning that we will be getting the much-anticipated battle between Fall and fellow 7-foot-6 center Mamadou N’Diaye.

Credit the NCAA for making the correct decision here.
