Oregon kicked off their season with an exhibition win over a no-name opponent that drew the game because they’re coached by former Duck legend Luke Jackson.
Dillon Brooks scored 26 points.
But unlike most exhibition wins, there was actually something worthwhile to take from this game: neither Dylan Ennis nor Jordan Bell suited up. As head coach Dana Altman announced earlier in the week, Ennis — a grad transfer from Villanova — and Bell — who set the school record for blocked shots last season — are out for, as Altman put it, “an undetermined amount of time” with foot issues.
Altman hinted that Ennis could be out through the end of the calendar year.
“We may be looking at a long stretch here where we’re going to be short-handed,” he said. “We’ve just got to make the adjustments.”
