Georgetown’s Akoy Agau out indefinitely with torn ACL

Georgetown lost some front court depth this week as head coach John Thompson III announced that sophomore forward Akoy Agau has a torn ACL and will be out indefinitely.

The 6-foot-9 Agau is a former four-star recruit who transferred to the Hoyas from Louisville at the semester break of last season. Agau only played 11 minutes during his sophomore year at Louisville and opted for a fresh start in the Big East after battling injury with the Cardinals.

Without Agau, Georgetown still has some bodies in the front court, but his depth will undoubtedly be missed. Sophomore forwards Isaac Copeland and Paul White are back for the Hoyas while freshmen like Jessie Govan and Marcus Derrickson can also help with the rotation.

Agau hasn’t been able to consistently contribute at the college level during his career and hopefully he can get healthy enough to finish strong.
