Devin Davis, the former Indiana forward who was struck by a car driven by his teammate last November, has been cleared to resume his basketball career, his father, Devin Davis Sr., announced on Friday evening.

“My God does answer prayers. My son, Devin Davis Jr., just got full release to play basketball again. We want to think all of you for your prayers and continued support,” Davis Sr. wrote in an Instagram post.

In the early hours of Nov. 1, Emmitt Holt accidentally struck Davis after dropping him off outside Memorial Stadium. Police found Davis unconscious, and charged Holt for illegal consumption of alcohol and driving with a BAC above 0.02. Holt was ruled not at fault. He would, however, be kicked off the team this summer after being cited for alcohol possession again.

Davis would miss the entire 2014-15 season as a result of his injuries. Davis’ sophomore year ended with a dismissal from the program after he was cited for marijuana possession. He later enrolled at Odessa Junior College (Texas).

Davis averaged 2.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game as a freshman during the 2013-14 season. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
