Michigan State will be without forward Marvin Clark for the next six-to-eight weeks as he recovers from a foot injury, the program announced on Tuesday.

The announcement did not include details of the injury.

This injury comes at a bad time for Clark, as college practices are set to begin next Friday and games are set to begin six weeks after that. There’s a chance that Clark could be healthy and ready to play by the start of the season, but he’ll have missed the entire preseason.

Clark, who was expected to battle with five-star freshman Deyonta Davis for the starting power forward spot, averaged 4.5 points and 2.9 boards as a freshman. He was singled out by head coach Tom Izzo as one of the players that struggled the most during the trip, meaning that he could really use those first six weeks of practice.

Michigan State will enter the 2015-16 season as a contender to win the Big Ten title. They are coming off of a trip to the 2015 Final Four.
