Mitch Lightfoot is ranked as the No. 118 player in the Class of 2016 by Rivals, a 6-foot-9 forward from Arizona that has trimmed his list to Utah, Stanford, St. John’s and a pair of powerhouse programs where he has roots: Kansas and Arizona.
Lightfoot lives in Gilbert, a suburb of Phoenix that is about a two hour drive from Arizona’s Tucson campus. But he also has family from the Kansas City area, which is what prompted the most adorable recruiting campaign of all-time.
Lightfoot returned from an official visit to Lawrence over the weekend, posting this picture on his twitter feed:

The recruiting effort was started by one of Lightfoot’s young cousins, according to the KC Star, which makes it even cuter. Kentucky head coach John Calipari may be the most innovative recruiter in the country, but it’s hard to see anyone topping a pitch made by a seven-year old relative who simply wants his big cousin to live close to him.
