Villanova has landed their second commitment in the Class of 2016 as three-star big man Dylan Painter announced on Wednesday that he will be a Wildcat.
“Beyond excited to announce that I am going to be joining the Villanova basketball family,” he wrote on twitter.
Painter is a 6-foot-10, 215 pound power forward from Hershey, Pennsylvania, that will give Jay Wright another physical presence in the paint. He’s a nice compliment to the more talented Omari Spellman, a five-star low-post player in the Class of 2016 that is also committed to Villanova, as Painter can step out an knock down a jumper as well.
The Wildcats are going to need some front court depth in 2016-17 as starting center Daniel Ochefu will be graduating after this season.
