VIDEO: John Calipari’s full Hall of Fame speech

Kentucky head coach John Calipari entered the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame this weekend and gave his induction speech Friday night in Springfield, Mass. Calipari used his induction speech to thank the numerous mentors, coaches and players he had worked with over the years who helped put him in this position.

By the end of his speech, Calipari had invited all of his former players to the stage with him in a unique moment that showed how many former players supported Calipari while also doubling as a who’s who of former college stars and NBA players.

Calipari was one of 11 enshrined in the Hall of Fame on Friday, as he joined former NBA stars Spencer Haywood, Jo Jo White and Dikembe Mutumbo, women’s basketball legend Lisa Leslie and longtime referee Dick Bavetta. Tom Heinsohn was inducted as a coach after already entering as a player and George Raveling and Australia’s Lindsay Gaze were also coaches to secure the honor. Rounding out the group was ABA star Louis Dampier and John Isaacs.
