Maryland has landed a commitment from four-star shooting guard Kevin Huerter, a source confirmed to NBCSports.com on Monday afternoon. Huerter later tweeted out the news of his commitment.

Huerter, who just finished a visit at Maryland, is a 6-foot-5 wing from upstate New York that is currently ranked 80th in the Class of 2016 by Rivals. His reputation is as a stereoptypical high-level jump-shooter, a kid that can stretch the floor that needs to continue to develop his handle and his defense. He’s a better passer and play maker than he gets credit for, however.

He’s the second commitment in the class for the Terps, joining four-star point guard Anthony Cowan.
