Last month LSU head coach Les Miles was asked about the basketball program’s highly regarded newcomer, 6-foot-10 forward Ben Simmons, and noted that he wouldn’t mind having the Australian out on the gridiron catching passes as a wide receiver. Of course, with Simmons seen by many to be in line for a nice payday whenever he decides to head to the NBA, that isn’t going to happen.
But that doesn’t mean Simmons can’t show off his skills as a pass-catcher, which is what he did while tailgating ahead of the football team’s season opener against McNeese State on Saturday (which wound up being cancelled due to inclement weather). Simmons posted a slow-motion video of his one-handed grab on Twitter.I told yall I could catch 😏 pic.twitter.com/5YZc4tqqQ2

The pass was a bit low, but Simmons adjusted and made the catch anyway. Well done.
