For the second time in as many days, Steve Prohm has added a recruit to his first class as head coach of Iowa State.

On Sunday, the Cyclones added junior college point guard Donovan Jackson. The following night, Solomon Young, a three-star small forward from California, committed to Iowa State. He had visited Ames this past weekend.

Alex Halsted of AllCyclones.com, a Scout affiliate site, reported the news first.

“They’re looking for a guy like me to take the position as an incoming freshman next year,” Young told Halsted. "[Coach Steve Prohm] told me the position he wants to play me is like the four. I’ll have the freedom to shoot, bring it out, versatile [player] that can back a defender down or bring it out to shoot. Kind of like 3 [or] 4-type player.”

The duo joins former Arkansas guard Nick Babb, who transferred to Iowa State in April, in Prohm’s incoming class. Babb has to sit out the 2015-16 season due to NCAA transfer rules.

The 6-foot-7 Young played 15 games for the Oakland Soldiers in the Nike EYBL this spring/summer.
