Miami announced late on Sunday night that forward Omar Sherman will be transferring out of the program.
“The Miami basketball program thanks Omar for his contributions to the team last season and we wish him the best of luck in his future,” head coach Jim Larrañaga said.
The 6-foot-8 Sherman started 10 games last season for the Hurricanes, averaging 4.8 points and 2.3 boards as a freshman. He had 13 in a double-overtime loss to Virginia and had eight -- including a pair of big threes -- in Miami’s upset win over Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Sherman is the third player to transfer out of the program this summer, as the Hurricanes also lost Manu Lecomte and Deandre Burnett.
