Michigan State received some positive news this week as sophomore guard Javon Bess returned from two foot injuries to play in a summer league game. According to a report from Joe Rexrode of the Detroit Free PressBess played in the Lansing Moneyball Pro-Am on Tuesday and he’s slowly coming back from surgery on his right foot.

Bess missed the opening part of the 2014-15 season recovering from surgery on his fifth metatarsal. He played in 12 games before injuring the foot again and shutting things down after Feb. 1. Averaging 12.3 minutes per game, Bess scored 2.3 points per contest.

By returning at this portion of this summer, Bess can get in better shape before Michigan State travels to play in Italy for an exhibition tour in August. It would be nice if Bess could return and be healthy this season because he gives the Spartans another guard to push the current rotation and at 6-foot-5, he has good size on the wing.
