La Salle made official on Thursday news that leaked out earlier this month: South Carolina transfer Demetrius Henry is transferring into the program.
“Demetrius gives us an experienced, talented player with size in 2016-17,” La Salle head coach John Giannini said. “His addition rounds out a potentially very strong roster. Demetrius will use next year to improve his skill, strength and rebounding. We will challenge him to improve his productivity to be one of the outstanding players in the A-10 and help our team return to the NCAA Tournament.”
Henry started 48 games in two seasons with the Gamecocks. As a sophomore, he averaged 6.0 points and 3.6 boards.
Henry was a four-star recruit coming out of high school.
