Oklahoma has landed a commitment from Kameron McGusty, a top 40 player in the Class of 2016.
“Truly blessed to say that I have committed to the University of Oklahoma,” McGusty wrote on twitter. “Feels good to be a Sooner.”
McGusty is a 6-foot-4 guard from Texas that plays for the same Houston Defenders program that produced the Harrison twins and Kansas State’s Wesley Iwundu. He’s an athletic playmaker off the dribble, a point guard who looks to pass first and get his teammates involved. He was one of the biggest climbers this spring and summer, going from a high-major prospect to an elite, top 50-caliber player.
McGusty is the second commitment in Lon Kruger’s 2016 class, joining three-star small forward Kristian Doolittle.
