With two members of their talented 2015 recruiting class already on campus attending summer school and going through workouts, California’s coaching staff has already been able to work with Ivan Rabb and Jaylen Brown in advance of the 2015-16 season. And Wednesday morning, California added another piece to its 2015 class.
6-foot-7 forward Roman Davis, who attended Windward HS and played for the Earl Watson Elite grassroots program, will make the trek up to Berkeley for his college career. The news was announced via Twitter and later confirmed by multiple outlets.
According to MaxPreps, Davis averaged 9.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game at Windward as a senior, and his addition gives the Golden Bears some additional depth in the front court. And with Davon Dillard now headed to Oklahoma State, another front court piece doesn’t hurt at all.
Joining Rabb in the post are returnees Kameron Rooks, who missed all of last season with a torn ACL, and Kingsley Okoroh, and that group will have to account for the production lost due to the graduation of David Kravish. California has a host of options on the wings, including Brown, Jabari Bird, Jordan Mathews and Georgetown transfer Stephen Domingo, which gives them the flexibility to play small at times.
