One of the questions regarding recruiting in the Class of 2015 was whether or not Maverick Rowan, a former Pittsburgh commit in the Class of 2016, would be able to move his graduation from high school up a year. Earlier in the year multiple media outlets wrote that there had been some difficulties regarding Rowan’s reclassification, but things have changed in that regard.

Sunday evening, Evan Daniels of Scout.com reported that Rowan is in the process of moving into the Class of 2015.

This would be an important development for the six schools Rowan revealed on his list at the beginning of the month, with UCLA, St. John’s, North Carolina, NC State, Louisville and Wisconsin being those programs. Rowan’s currently enrolled in summer school per the report, and one of those six schools is already in line to host the four-star shooting guard on an official visit.

St. John’s a team with a new head coach (Chris Mullin) that’s in need of additional perimeter depth thanks to the departure of Rysheed Jordan, will host Rowan on an official visit beginning Monday. Rowan doesn’t play the same position as Jordan, who was expected to start at the point for the Red Storm, but his ability as a scorer is something a team that lost its top four scorers (and five of the top six) from last season can definitely use.

Rowan’s taken an official visit to Louisville, and he’s reportedly down to four schools but has yet to release which four those are. All six teams Rowan listed at the beginning of the month have room for a late addition, with three (NC State, St. John’s and UCLA) have multiple scholarships available and the others (Louisville, North Carolina and Wisconsin) each having one available scholarship to use.
