There have long been rumors that Josh Jackson, one of the top prospects in a loaded Class of 2016, will skip college and head to the professional ranks overseas.

Jackson, who is currently in training camp with USA Basketball’s U-19 team in the hopes of playing in the World Championships in Greece in July, tried to quell those rumors.

“I’ve heard that as well,” Jackson told Sporting News of the speculation. “That’s not true. I’m definitely going to college.”

That’s good news for the nine schools still on Jackson’s list: Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, North Carolina, Arizona, Michigan State, Louisville, UCLA and N.C. State. It’s worth noting here that Jackson, whose AAU program is run my his mother and financed by Under Armor, has a list without a single school affiliated with UA. It’s also worth noting that Emmanuel Mudiay, another Under Armor kid, skipped out on college to play in China for a year -- with a reported seven-figure sponsorship deal with the shoe company.

With that in mind, it’s hard to see Jackson’s quote quelling these rumors.
