Louisville added some insurance to its backcourt for next season late this week as Class of 2015 guard Jay Henderson committed to be apart of Rick Pitino’s team. The 6-foot-5 Henderson was originally going to walk-on at St. John’s under head coach Steve Lavin until Lavin was replaced by Chris Mullin this spring.
Henderson gives the Cardinals an additional guard who could compete for some minutes in the rotation next season.

Just like he planned to at St. John’s, Henderson will walk on at Louisville. For the Cardinals to add a guard like Henderson who had high-major interest without giving up a scholarship is a nice addition at this point. In addition to competing for playing time, Henderson can also be an additional player to practice with the team.
Recruiting has been good to Louisville this week as five-star Class of 2016 wing V.J. King also pledged to the Cardinals.
