UMass has looked to add athletes to its backcourt the past few classes and that trend continued with a commitment from New York native and guard Unique McLean.

The 6-foot-1 native of Brooklyn attended Hoosac School before switching MacDuffie School. McLean is one of the best dunkers in all of high school basketball and is known for his athleticism. The Class of 2016 guard represents the first commitment for UMass in the class.

The addition of McLean, an athletic lefty who can defend and get points in transition, helps give the Minutemen another piece for the future as they’ll also have Donte Clark, C.J. Anderson and incoming freshman Luwane Pipkins in their future backcourt.

Here’s some highlights showcasing what McLean does best from Team Flight Brothers
