Virginia lost a commitment from a top-100 big man on Tuesday as Rob Harrington of Scout.com reported that Sacha Killeya-Jones is opening up his recruitment.

The native of Lynchburg, VA committed to the Cavaliers on New Year’s Day this year and decided that he rushed into the decision. The 6-foot-9 Killeya-Jones is regarded as a four-star prospect and the No. 73 overall prospect in Rivals’ Class of 2016 national rankings.

This spring, Killeya-Jones played with Team Felton in the Under Armour Association and averaged 9.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in eight games.

Virginia still has commitments in the 2016 class from guards Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome as well as big man Jay Huff. Killeya-Jones will have plenty of high-major interest this summer during the July live evaluation period and he has a lot of upside as a long-term prospect.
