Kevaughn Allen is third Billy Donovan recruit to remain committed to Florida

Kevaughn Allen will honor his initial commitment and will enroll at Florida next season, according to multiple reports. Allen was expected by many to ask for a release from his letter of intent, and his father went on a radio show in Arkansas to say that his son would ask for the release.

Allen is a four-star recruit from Arkansas. He’s ranked in the top 75 of the Class of 2015, according to Rivals, and should be able to have an immediate impact for the Gators. A strong, athletic defender, the 6-foot-3 Allen has three-point range and the kind of length that makes him play bigger than his size.

Allen was arguably the best player in Florida’s four-man recruiting class, and while new Gator head coach Mike White lost Noah Dickerson, he managed to keep forwards Keith Stone and Kevarrius Hayes as a part of the incoming class.

That’s a good sign for White’s ability to recruit, let alone for the Florida program under his watch.
