Arizona State lost a commitment in the Class of 2016 on Monday as three-star stretch forward Lucas Siewert opted to open up his recruitment.

The 6-foot-10 native of California, by way of Brazil, can really shoot the ball from the perimeter. He checks in at No. 131 overall in the 2016 class, according to Rivals.

The Sun Devils have had some issues holding onto commitments in the last few months as they’ve transitioned from former head coach Herb Sendek to new head coach Bobby Hurley. Class of 2016 commitment and forward Brendan Bailey and Class of 2017 guard Markus Howard both decommitted this spring.

There’s no question that Arizona State lost some talented players in future classes, but Hurley now has a clean slate to work with and he can go after the players he wants to target to play more up and down.
