Washington lost a bright piece of its future this week as multiple reports indicate that top-100 Class of 2016 guard JaQuori McLaughlin has decommitted from the Huskies.

The 6-foot-3 McLaughlin is a talented combo guard and he’s regarded as the No. 74 overall prospect in the 2016 class, according to Rivals.

The Huskies have lost multiple players to transfer or dismissal over the last 12 months and losing a top-100 recruiting in a future class is another bad sign for head coach Lorenzo Romar. On the positive side, McLaughlin is still considering Washington, according to a report from Scout.com’s Josh Gershon, but he wants to see other schools and re-evaluate his stance.

The native of Gig Harbor, Washington should see his recruiting attention pick up now that he’s opened things back up.

Now that McLaughlin has put himself back on the market, the Huskies don’t have a commitment for the Class of 2016 after landing seven players in a highly-touted Class of 2015.
