Ron Hunter continues to clean up in the transfer market.

The star of the NCAA tournament announced on Tuesday that he has landed a commitment from Willie Clayton, a 6-foot-8 forward from Charlotte. He averaged 7.3 points and 6.3 boards as a junior.

“Willie is a talented big man who is going to be a huge addition to our program,” head coach Ron Hunter said. “He was highly-recruited coming out of high school and has had a very good collegiate career, especially on the boards.”

“I feel as though Willie adds to an already extremely talented recruiting class and is going to do well in our system. I am glad he decided to return home to finish his career.”

Clayton played three seasons with the 49ers, who hired Mark Price to replace Alan Major this spring. He’ll have to sit out the 2015-16 season and will have one season of eligibility remaining.
