One week after adding former College of Southern Idaho forward Ray Kasongo to the roster, Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes received another commitment for his front court on Thursday. Kyle Alexander, a 6-foot-10 center who attends Orangeville Prep in Canada, announced that he’ll be a Volunteer next season.

Alexander picked Tennessee over New Mexico, and he’s the fifth commitment in the Class of 2015 for the Tennessee program. Alexander, Kasongo and point guard Lamonte’ Turner all committed to the SEC program after Barnes was hired as head coach, with Admiral Schofield and Shembari Phillips being early signees who remained with the program despite head coaching change.

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, Alexander plans on being on campus for summer school, which should help him get acclimated to Tennessee while also beginning the off-season workout program. Tennessee doesn’t have much in the way of interior depth, so the addition of Alexander helps in that regard.
