Alonzo Nelson-Ododa is transferring out of the Richmond program, the school announced on Tuesday.

Nelson-Ododa is a 6-foot-9 forward that is second all-time in Richmond history in blocks. He averaged 6.6 points and 5.1 boards this past season, starting 69 games in three seasons. Nelson-Ododa will graduate this spring as well, meaning that he will be eligible immediately wherever he ends up.

“We wish all of the best to Alonzo as he moves on and completes his final year of collegiate eligibility,” head coach Chris Mooney said in a statement. “We are proud of him for graduating and earning his degree at the University of Richmond.”

Part of the reason that Nelson-Ododa is leaving is that Richmond has plenty of depth along their front court. In addition to returnees Terry Allen and T.J. Cline, the Spiders will be adding Marshall Wood, a transfer from Virginia Tech that will be eligible to play this season.
